So you know how I'm always saying I'm busy? Yeah. I am super busy today, gearing up for a party tonight. Max and I had a long list of "things we need to do before the party" and being snowed in really put us behind schedule there. So now we're trying to do it all reallyreallyreally fast. Because 2008 is almost a memory, just a few more hours left!

Luckily, as I noted in my Twitter, we have had lovely people helping us, so I'm good shape. I have a fabulous dress to wear. I have champagne. I have pre-made yummy party food ready to go in my new (and almost alarming large) refrigerator. Our washer and dryer both work again, miracle of miracles, so the also alarmingly large pile of laundry has been dealt with. The house is looking like someplace I'd be happy to welcome guests, rather than a fortress in state of snow-siege.

And along the the way this week, I've gotten to see a lot of the wonderful people I really missed seeing last week. Not all - I'm still working on that. But a lot.

So today I'm going to go get a quick manicure - see, there's a motif here, people - and then come home and swing into the final stages of Operation NYE 2008. Bye-bye, old year - hello 2009. I'm looking forward to seeing what you have in store for me.
